The governing body and teaching staff carry out their responsibility to ensure the National Curriculum is taught throughout the school according to statutory requirements and this commitment is shared with parents through the school brochure. 

A key strength of the school is our broad and balanced curriculum delivered in a carefully planned, varied and stimulating way, often including focus days, educational visits and visitors.  In addition, Spiritual, Moral,Social and Cultural education  is provided to support the development of the whole child and includes work on personal safety, healthy living, sex and relationship education and citizenship.   Religious Education forms part of the curriculum and assemblies follow a four year cycle of themes as well as incorporating the marking of religious and cultural festivals and class and performance assemblies.

All our curriculum maps have been updated to include Key Skills.  These are the most important skills that pupils should meet in the unit of work.  These skills progress year on year, increasing in depth and challenge.  

How can I find out more about our curriculum?

The first half term’s planning is explained at the “Meet the Teacher” evening early in the year. After that a planning sheet is sent home at the beginning of each half term to enable parents/carers to support children’s learning.  All curriculum overviews are available on the school website and a copy can be requested at the school office.  Further queries can be discussed with your class teacher though Class Dojo.
